JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- The 12th-ranked Vanderbilt women's basketball team battled to a tough 66-55 win at East Tennessee State on Friday night at the Memorial Center. Four Commodores scored in double-figures to hold off a late rally by the homestanding Lady Bucs.

MILLSBORO, Del. -- Vanderbilt was in a tight battle for first place in total pin fall after the first day of Maryland-Eastern Shore's Hawk Classic. Delaware State holds a two pin lead over the Commodores and four pin advantage over Fairleigh Dickinson heading into the traditional team games tomorrow.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Vanderbilt swimming and diving team will compete in its final fall meet of the season this weekend as they travel to Bowling Green, Ky., to compete in the Hilltopper Invitational. The tournament will begin on Friday conclude with the 400-yard freestyle relay on Sunday afternoon.

The Vanderbilt Commodores fell to the Illinois Illini, 69-63, at Memorial Gym on Thursday night. Vanderbilt held a 5-point lead with ten minutes remaining but couldn't convert scores in the final minutes. Stan Jones captured these images of the contest.

The Vanderbilt men’s basketball team suffered their first loss of the season Thursday night when the fell to Illinois 69-63. The Commodores made just 13 of 21 free throws on the night and were unable to convert a couple of layups in the closing minutes.
