New York Jets 2008 Schedule and Prediction

Brett Favre finally found a home for the 2008 season. Let's look at the 2008 New York Jets schedule and see if Brett Favre will really make a difference for this team.

September 7 at Miami Win
September 14 New England Loss
September 22 at San Diego Loss
September 28 Arizona Win
October 12 Cincinnati Win
October 19 at Oakland Win
October 26 Kansas City Win
November 2 at Buffalo Loss
November 9 St. Louis Win
November 13 at New England Loss
November 23 at Tennessee Loss
November 30 Denver Win
December 7 at San Francisco Win
December 14 Buffalo Win
December 21 at Seattle Loss
December 28 Miami Win
The New York Jets 2008 schedule gives them a great opportunity to compete and reach the playoffs. According to our predictions, the Jets have a very reasonable chance to win 10 games this season. The acquisition of Brett Favre just enhances their opportunity this season. Look for the Jets to be a playoff contender after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs on October 26. With a 6-2 record to start the season, they should be in the hunt all season long.

Unfortunately, the AFC is the more difficult conference. Favre won't reach the Super Bowl but he will be able to reach the playoffs. This might be more than what the Green Bay Packers do this season when you review their schedule.

What record do you think the New York Jets will have this season? Give us your prediction in our New York Jets forum below.

LAW HOPES TO ORDER UP SPOT IN STARTING LINEUP

Ty Law went through his first full practice with the Jets on Wednesday and may make his first start with the team Sunday at Tennessee - though the veteran cornerback played it coy when asked if he'd start. "There's a pretty good chance," he said...

JETS' WASHINGTON DAZZLES WITH KICKOFF PROWESS

The play looks so simple. Leon Washington catches the ball, turns on the speed, and 12 seconds later he has raced 92 yards to the end zone. But Washington's kickoff return in New England last week is like all four of his kickoff returns for...

MOMENTUM AT STAKE IN AFC TANGLE WITH 10-0 TITANS

It's a Clash of Titans on multiple levels. Never mind that the Jets arrived on the pro football scene in 1960 as the New York Titans, but now you have the Tennessee Titans and Gang Green ready for the biggest AFC showdown this season on Sunday...

Law return better than imagined

Not even Ty Law could have even envisioned how his return to the Jets would go. Just days after the Jets signed him, Law found himself covering Randy Moss and partipating in 57 plays in the Jets' 34-31 overtime win in New England on Nov. 13.

Woody isn't blitzing Brett

Brett Favre will have a lot of people in his face over the next six weeks, starting Sunday with Albert Haynesworth & Co. None of the people will be named Woody Johnson.

Law's seamless inclusion into lineup impressive

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Ty Law's most recent trajectory - out of professional football one week, heavy playing time in a key AFC East showdown the next - may seem inconceivable, but as much as Law tries to shrug it off, he's forced to deal with the reality of his hasty transition.

Jones enjoys bounce back season for Jets

Paeans for Leon as One of NFL's Top Returners

When the Jets lost dynamic kick returner Justin Miller for the season with a knee injury in Week 2 of the 2007 season, nobody guessed second-year player Leon Washington would fill his shoes so decisively. A year and a half later, Washington is the NFL’s second-leading kickoff returner with a 29.6 average and is drawing praise from the coaching staff for his work ethic. “Just knowi...

Coach's Thursday News Conference

Transcript of Jets head coach Eric Mangini's news conference before Thursday's midday practice:     Today we are following our normal schedule, so we will be working primarily on third down. That will be the point of emphasis. Tennessee has always been very good defensively on third down since the time Jeff [Fisher]'s been there. It’s really no different this year and...

For Ty Law and Darrelle Revis, a Neighborhood Play

Picture a small, proud town where everybody knows everybody and folks gather to talk about the favorite sons who've left the neighborhood but have never really left and what they all may be up to next. As far as the NFL is concerned, there are lots of those towns. One of them is Aliquippa, Pa. "We talked about this situation all the time at home," Ty Law said of being reunited with ...

Titans remain AFC's only lock to reach postseason

The Titans and Giants appear to be locks for the playoffs. Beyond those two powers it's anyone's guess. So, with six weeks left, who's in and who's out?

Jets rookie quarterback Erik Ainge has been suspended for four games by the NFL on Friday for violating the league’s policy on steroids and related substances. Soundbites: Dustin Keller 11/21/2008

On whether it is easy to move on to the next play after not completing the previous play… You have to. If you sit there and think about the drop you might drop the next one and continue to drop the ball the rest of the game. You have to take the good with the bad. [...]

Jets-Patriots Position Breakdown

I thought I would break down each position of the Jets-Patriots game to see which team has the overall edge. I know this is a Jets website, but I will try to be as objective as possible. Quarterback Edge: Jets Brett Favre is clearly better than Matt Cassel, there is no question about that. Favre can’t make [...]
