Georgetown to Host Central Michigan in Home Opener

The Georgetown University women's basketball team will host the Central Michigan University Chippewas (1-0) Saturday afternoon at McDonough Arena in the squad's home opener. The Hoyas are currently 2-0 on the season after a pair of victories on the road this past week. Central Michigan will face Howard University on Friday before concluding its trip out East with GU on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Henner and Bumbalough Garner Cross Country Mid-Atlantic Coach and Athlete of the Year; Hoyas Head to NCAA Championship on Monday

The Georgetown University cross country team received two honors from the U.S. Track & Field / Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday when it was announced that in just his second year as Director of Track & Field / Cross Country, Patrick Henner was named the Cross Country Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. Junior Andrew Bumbalough (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood Academy) was named the Mid-Atlantic Region Athlete of the Year after a stellar season that saw him win the individual titles at the Mid-Atlantic Cross Country Regional Championships and the BIG EAST Conference Championship; Bumbalough led the Hoyas to both team titles as well.

Multiple Hoyas Achieve Personal Records on First Day of Patriot Invitational

After one day at the Patriot Invitational in Fairfax, Va., the Georgetown women's swimming & diving team sits in fifth place, while the men's swimming & diving team rests in sixth place. On the day, four men's swimmers set PR's and cracked top-10 lists at Georgetown in their individual events.

Georgetown Takes Court on Saturday, Hosting Drexel in Non-League Game

The 22nd-ranked Georgetown University men's basketball team takes the court at Verizon Center for its second game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 22, a non-league contest against Drexel. The Hoyas and Dragons will tip off at 1 p.m. The game can be heard on AM 570, with Rich Chvotkin providing all of the action.

Swimming and Diving Competing in Patriot Invitational This Weekend

The Georgetown University swimming & diving teams will be one of eight schools competing at the Jim McKay Natatorium this weekend as the 2008 Patriot Invitational takes place from Friday to Sunday. The event, hosted by George Mason University, begins today at 10 a.m. with the preliminaries, while the Friday finals are set to begin at 6 p.m. Saturday's competition will follow the same schedule as Friday, while the Sunday preliminaries and finals will begin one hour earlier, at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.
