At Clemson, Clemson senior Danielle Hepburn totaled 18 kills to lead all hitters and junior Lia Proctor recorded a double-double as the Tigers defeated Maryland in four sets (25-16, 25-15, 26-28, 25-21) at Jervey Gym.

Clemson improved to 20-9 for the program’s third consecutive 20-win season and 10th overall under coach Jolene Jordan Hoover.

KEYS TO THE GAME

1. Be predictable in one sense

Get C.J. Spiller the ball. Often. Coaches believe Virginia’s defense is comparable to Boston College, and that Spiller’s speed on the perimeter should give the Cavaliers trouble. If Spiller does not log at least five receptions, the Tigers’ odds of winning are not good.

2. Hold the fort

Virginia’s offense figures to play it safe — short passes, protect the quarterback, work field position and use the home-field advantage. Clemson’s defense has fared well against these kinds of attacks, but the one thing it cannot do is allow the Cavaliers to establish their running game, where Cedric Peerman is dangerous.

Clemson improved to 20-9 on the year for the program's third straight 20-win season and 10th overall under Head Coach Jolene Jordan Hoover.

Four star linebacker Jarvis Jones had a painful end to his senior season after he broke his left hand in three places three weeks ago. His season officially came to an end when he elected to have surgery on Monday.
