No. 4 Men's Hockey Defeats Massachusetts 2-0 In Hockey East Action

Freshman Cam Atkinson scored a power-play goal in the second period and classmate Paul Carey sealed the victory with a man-advantage goal late the third period to lead fourth-ranked Boston College to a 2-0 Hockey East win before 4,727 fans at Kelley Rink. Atkinson opened the scoring at 14:48 of the middle period off a cross-ice pass from freshman Barry Almeida.

Volleyball Falls 3-0 To Georgia Tech

The Boston College volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat at Georgia Tech in front of 1,248 fans in O'Keefe Gym. With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 7-23 (1-17 ACC) while the Yellow Jackets improved to 19-9 (11-7 ACC).

Men's Soccer Defeats Colgate 2-0 In First Round Of 2008 NCAA Tournament

Sophomore Shawn Chin and freshman Edvin Worley each scored one goal and tallied one assist to lead Boston College to a 2-0 victory over Colgate in the first round of the 2008 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship before 586 fans at the Newton Campus Soccer Complex. BC has advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and will play at Dartmouth on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m.

Focus '10: Tarik Hightower

Tebucky Jones Jr. and Tarik Hightower make up a formidable duo on the outside in the New Britain High School offense and both will be recruited by Division I programs over the next year. We caught up with Hightower this week to see which schools have already made contact and found that Connecticut has definitely been working hard on all three of his teammates as well as him.

Tebucky Jones Jr. Talks Recruiting

Tebucky Jones Jr. is a standout player at New Britain High School in Connecticut, however he is trying to make his way doing the opposite of what his father did in college and the NFL, score touchdowns. The younger Jones was the teams’ leading receiver this season and is already hearing from a handful of programs.

Academic Focus for Pomykala

New Britain, Conn., product Martin Pomykala has the potential to line up at both linebacker and defensive end at the collegiate level, but admits he would like to stand up and rush from the outside. So far he has already picked up his first scholarship offer, but will be waiting on other schools to step up to the plate.
