Start’em Sit’em

It is time for our final start’em sit’em column of the season. Those of you who are still playing, good luck. Here are our thoughts on this week’s match-ups:

QBs- We are big fans of Donovan McNabb this week. He plays the New Orleans secondary. Look for a big day, 250 yards and a couple TDs at least. Carson Palmer is also a solid play this week against the Browns.

Marc Bulger is back and looking for some momentum; the problem is he plays the top “D” in the league. Sit Bulger. Philip Rivers is another player that has been inconsistent this season. Bench Rivers against a good Denver secondary.

RBs – This should be an interesting week for running backs. There are several plays we really like. Laurence Maroney is a must start against the Dolphins. The Miami defense ranks last in the league against the run, and Maroney has momentum coming off last week’s 100-yard game. Lendale White is a strong play against the Jets as well.

Clinton Portis has had a good season. He ranks 3rd in the NFC in rushing; however, this week he faces the best run defense in the league, Minnesota. Find another option if you can. Deshaun Foster and Deangelo Williams are weak plays this week against a strong Dallas run defense.

WRs – Eli Manning has had a decent season, and this week should be one of his better games. Look for him to find Plaxico Burress often against the Bills secondary. Likewise, Greg Jennings should have a huge day against a Bears defense that has struggled against the pass.

Reggie Williams has been a solid start for weeks now, but this week that will change. Look for Jacksonville to pound the Raiders defense on the ground, which results in fewer opportunities for Williams. Andre Johnson also has a rough match-up this week against the Colt’s top pass defense in the league.

There you have it. Good luck in your Super Bowl and check back next year for more start’em sit’em.
