Start’em Sit’em – Week 9
Week 9 is upon us, and the Fantasy Football stretch begins. This is the time that the boys are separated from the men. If you want to make the playoffs, it is imperative that you make winning decisions. SportProjections.com is here to help. Don’t make your decisions without reading our start’em sit’em column.
QBs – This could be a huge week for Matt Hasselbeck. The Seahawks travel to face the Cleveland Browns and its questionable defense. The Browns are giving up 275 yards per game through the air. Matt Hasselbeck is coming off a bye week where he was able to heal up and get ready to play. Matt also gets back WR Hackett and possibly Branch. This has the potential to be a 350-yard and 3- TD day for Hass.
Kurt Warner is a must sit this week against the Tampa defense. The Bucs boast the second- best pass defense in the league, and we are not sure Kurt is 100% healthy. If you have another option, go with him. Scan your waiver wire and see if you can grab Jason Campbell or JP Losman for a one-week start rather than play Warner.
RBs – It’s breakout week for Clinton Portis. Washington had a tough game last week against the Patriots. Everyone struggled; even the waterboy lcfhad an off game in week 8. This week, the ‘Skins get the NY Jets. Clinton Portis has to be licking his chops as he watches film of the Jets defense. Portis should clear 100 yards and have a TD or 2.
The Carolina Panthers face the best run defense in the league in week 9. The Tennessee Titans have been stingy against the run and now face Deshaun Foster and DeAngelo Williams. We would not play either of these guys for two reasons: the Tennessee Defense and the fact they share carries for each other. Steer clear of the Carolina RBs.
WRs – Those of you that have been patient with Lee Evans will see the payoff this week. JP Losman is back in the starting roll, and we saw him looking for Lee last week. The Bills are playing the Bengals and should be able to put up huge numbers. Look for 100+ yards and a TD.
Joey Galloway was one of the top fantasy WRs last week. This week will be a different story. The Tampa passing game has been inconsistent, and this week it faces a decent Cardinals pass defense. Galloway is going to have an off week, so go with other options if you can.
There you have it, some words of advice from SportProjections.com. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. We are always here to help. Good luck with your run for the playoffs.
