The AP Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll proved once again why we need a playoff in college football. The voters consistently put one team ahead of another with no logic to it.

AP Poll

18. Louisville 2-1
21. Kentucky 3-0

USA Today Coaches Poll

19. Louisville 2-1
23. Kentucky 3-0

If these polls want to justify their existence, they must make significant changes at the beginning of the season. Kentucky beating Louisville on Saturday should automatically place them ahead of Louisville at this point in the season. I beg the voters to forget about their preseason predictions and to vote according to how the games are played on the field.

Whyt does anyone carewhat the polls say anyhow. They are incorrect every week of the season including after the season. You have writers that know almost nothing about putting on a uniform but we trust them to decide who is better than others. Plain and simplyput there should not be polls in sports, wins and losses should dictate who is and is not #1. It’s very easy, after the 1st week of the season you have exactly 50% of all college football teams at #1 and exactly 50% of all college football teams at #2. It’s easy, fairand all the other stuff comes out in the wash during the entire season. Oh by the way, what does the BCS do anyhow?
