The Sopranos: It’s all about the Money
Please don’t read the next couple of paragraphs if you haven’t watched The Sopranos finale and don’t want to know the outcome.
************Spoiler Alert****************
I loved to watch the show because it was so different from most television shows. I felt like I was in the middle of a scandalous family and anything could happen to them. We saw popular characters get killed at unexpected moments. It’s just a shame after all the hype and expectations it came to an end that smelled of money. After it was said and done you could see David Chase (Sopranos Creator) already sign on the dotted line to make three Sopranos’ movies in the next ten years. Instead of having a satisfying finale (and I don’t mean they had to whack him) they decided to think about money, money and money. Chase wasn’t kind to his devoted fans. He decided it was more important to make more money off of them.
I will say that the SUV “smush” was classic and I was on the edge of my seat at the very end. However I can only feel disappointment that Chase couldn’t move on. You know a Sopranos movie is in the works and we’ll hear about it within the year. Count on it. You read it here first.
Were my expectations too great? Has anyone seen a very satisfying TV finale?
************End Spoiler Alert****************
Back to the weekend of sports and my thoughts:
- Our crack staff might want to reconsider their NBA finals projection. At least the Cavs decided to play a bit at the end of the game. Was anyone watching by the time they decided to make a run? I’m convinced we all saw the attempted comeback on Sportscenter.
- Are we still positive the Spurs can consistently hit the outside shot? Don’t you want to pack the inside so Parker has to hit the three pointer? Why would you ever let Ginobilli or Parker drive and create inside? Wouldn’t you double team Duncan every play? If I’m the Cavs I make them kill you on outside shots. I will admit Ginobilli had the stroke going last night but the Spurs main outside shooters were 3-16 (Horry 1-3, Finley 1-4, Bowen 1-9). I beg the Cavs to lose this series because of Horry, Bowen, Finley and Parker hitting three pointers.
- Oakland Athletic pitching only gave up 10 runs this whole week. The A’s could quickly become a contender in the AL if they could get someone besides Swisher to hit for them.
- The Mets have decided to let everyone back in the NL East. The schedule isn’t pretty for the rest of the month.
- Dodger fans had to be so disappointed to see Jason Schmidt struggle after his nice start during the week. The velocity isn’t there for him. Is his arm already struggling after only one start back from the DL?
- Nadal has Federer’s number at the French Open. Our crack staff thought the run was going to end after Federer beat Nadal on clay earlier but alas they were dead wrong.
