Heisman ballots and a weekend of football

Saban brings intensity to A+ Banquet in Autauga

Do you want the pain of discipline, or the pain of disappointment? The media just makes stuff up these days, they don't report the news. They set expectations and tear you down when you don't meet them. That's fine, I'm used to it, he said. Radio, like the Paul Finebaum show -- there are enough team dynamics destroyed on the airwaves. I don't listen to it, I don't read the papers. We talk about our three 'I's' -- intensity, immediacy, intelligence, he said. We want to have a big, physical team that no one wants to play. We want to be relentless. Freddy Krueger -- why is he so scary? You can't kill him, Saban said. You think he's gone and then he reaches through the wall and grabs you around the neck. When we start to play like champions, that's when we'll win a championship. Full Story (http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008805230376)

Alabama Football 2008: Players to Watch on Offense

After a disappointing end to a season that started 6-2, the Alabama Crimson Tide find themselves lacking some depth heading into the summer. Granted, that highly touted recruiting class is coming on campus, but it is still a mystery as to whom and to what extent some of these players will be able to contribute to this team right away. For this reason, the Tide will be relying on an upstart running back, some anchors on the offensive line, and a very seasoned veteran to be the leaders for Alabama in 2008 and the keys to their team’s success on offense. My Style of Football

"I know time is running out," Tana Patrick said. "I've really got to start thinking about this recruiting stuff fast. I'm hoping to take some visits in December and I've gotta figure out where I'm gonna go quick. Every time I think I like a few schools it changes. I think there are probably like 10 serious schools right now, but even that isn't for sure yet, so I don't want to say..."
