It’ll be like 2009 all over again later today, as Patrik Antonius and Viktor “Judi Online” Blom are expected to battle in some high stakes Pot Limit Omaha on Partypoker.
In November of 2009, Antonius and Blom set the record for the largest ever online poker cash game pot. The $1.35 million pot, which was played on Full Tilt Poker, came after the two players got all-in after a flop of 4s-5c-2h. Antonius flopped a wheel, while Blom had a massive draw, though the turn and river didn’t help Blom and Antonius was pushed the massive pot.
This pot took place during Blom’s incredible run on Full Tilt Poker that saw him battle the likes of Phil Ivey, Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Antonius. In fact, Blom even battled Ivey and Antonius at the same time on more than one occasion.
Today’s battle on Partypoker will be a bit tamer by comparison, as the stakes are lower (though still high at $100/$200) and there will be other players in the game.
In addition to Antonius and Blom, Sam Trickett, Leon Tsoukernik and others will also be playing.
The game is expected to get underway on Partypoker at 6 pm BST, or 1 pm EST for those in North America.
Partypoker has been hosting some larger stakes cash games featuring some notable names in an attempt to build some buzz on the site.
